9/22: dBridge, Lynx, Bachelors of Science

DBRIDGE
(exit, club autonomic, a bunch of cuts – uk)
A veteran producer and one of the most experienced artists in drum & bass, Darren White aka dBridge is an artist whose multiple transformations and evolutions glide through a staggering list of achievements. Over the course of a long and distinguished career, he has been at the heart of some the most exciting collaborative partnerships drum & bass has ever seen from Future Forces to Bad Company and mostly recently Club Autonomic. Forging a strong bond with Instra:mental, they showcased their Autonomic sound with an award-winning Fabriclive mix CD, worldwide tour and residencies for Fabric and Rinse FM. In 2011, dBridge returns the focus to his label Exit Records with the Mosaic Vol. 1 compilation and more artist LPs as he continues to be a mentor to the new breed of producers inspired by his career. As a solo artist, dBridge remains versatile with his own productions for Exit, Reinforced, Hotflush, and more.

LYNX
(soul:r, detail, digital soundboy, creative source – uk)
Opening his new label Detail Recordings in 2010, Lynx is a man on a mission to deliver only the freshest and most innovative sounds in underound electronic music. Standout tracks including ‘Disco Dodo’ and ‘Global Enemies’ may have helped make his name across the worldwide drum & bass scene but the sheer diversity and quality of Lynx’s output across labels like Soul:r, Creative Source, Digital Soundboy and Bingo have marked him as a producer par-excellence. Recent remixes for Metalheadz, Hospital and Innerground have shown he remains ahead of the rest, with cutting-edge studio skills and the drive to explore new musical avenues. A diverse and talented DJ, his live sets are largely built on exclusive and upfront material with an eclectic feel appealing to clubbers across the spectrum. Collaborating with Sense MC for his latest release on Detail (‘For the Rebels’ released October 2010), Lynx has demonstrated once again his ability to mix vocals with musicality and straight dancefloor-appeal, keeping the standard high and staying true to his own style.

BACHELORS OF SCIENCE
(horizons, santorin, www.bachelorsofscience.com – SF)
As long-time residents of the weird and always unexpected city of San Francisco, Bachelors Of Science are renowned for mixing up and making unique blends of laid back, tripped-out, soul drenched tracks that are designed to be listened to as well as just heard on the floor. Choosing quality over quantity, they are regarded as one of the most consistently innovative and sought-after remixers and producers of the area, working with everyone from dance music legends Groove Armada and Paradox to indie darlings Home Video and Silver Swans. The Bachelors continue to defy those that try to categorize them into a genre. From the deep liquid drum n bass inspired by their hometown of London and the likes of High Contrast and LTJ Bukem to the minimal inspired Autonomic sounds of dBridge and sun-drenched 4/4 grooves inspired by fellow SF locals Dirtybird … the Bachelors have retained their quality and a large and loyal following throughout, garnering plays from Annie Mac, Basement Jaxx, LTJ Bukem, High Contrast, Loxy, Doc Scott, DJ Hype, Reid Speed, Alix Perez, Grooverider and DJ Marky.

METHOD ONE
(31 recs, levitated)
In the 18 years since he first started experimenting with sampled loops, Jason Leder aka Method One has become one of the elder statesmen of the American drum and bass scene. As a dj, he has honed his craft through hundreds of gigs stretching back to the early nineties, and can be heard every Friday on www.bassdrive.com. As a musician, he is responsible for numerous releases and remixes on labels such as 31 Records, Levitated, Secret Operations, Nu Directions, Outsider, Vampire, Absys, Covert Operations, Vibez, Red Mist, Offworld, Nexus (Good Looking), Testflight, Elektra/Warner Brothers and more.

2Cents
(wodnb, formation, sublife, compression)
Known around the globe for their thundering “dirty business,” 2 CENTS have been at the forefront of professional drum and bass for over a decade. Sponsored by the London-based World of Drum and Bass, they have rocked their hyphee Bay area bounce for crowds all over the US and Europe, have been covered in electronic music magazines such as XLR8R, and Knowledge and were the featured artists on the World of Drum and Bass 10 Year Anniversary Mix. Behind the decks, 2 CENTS (DJs Aye~n and Mal) exhibit next-levels skills learned as founding members of San Francisco’s seminal drum and bass scene

The Colonel MC
(wodnb, compression)
Like we need to tell you anything about this motherfucker.

Emcee Child
(bachelors of science)
Child’s diverse background encompasses many different genres of music from all over his home land of England. A true pioneer of San Francisco Bass music culture, the legendary toaster makes his first appearance in nearly a year.
