"itz bangin' all the way through. great mix. need a hard copy!"--DJ Whizard (LA)

"You guys have done it again. This mix has not left my cd player since the day after the World. Great stuff guys, I am proud to say that we have the best D&B crew on the west coast. Thanks for melting my face off once again."--Danny the Junglist (Compression Head)

"This is a very well produced and entertaining mix. The tunes are straight raved the f out imo (which I enjoy btw). But I really did want to make a point that Colonels MCing is absolutly fucking exceptional on this! Honestly one of the best MC performances on a mix that I've heard in a long while. Very original and very diverse. MC's should take note."--Odyssey DnB (Monterey)

"It is the fire, esp beginning until about 20-25min mark. If you can jungle step in a car while driving, that's what i was doing in my head on my drive home yesterday. Someone at a stop light asked what I was listening to . . .I pulled the CD out the deck and said here take it, check it out . . .this is some Bay Area Drum N Bass!!"--Hapapride (Bayraves)

"mix does exactly what it says on the tin. Not the type of thing I'd usually listen to (on purpose), but, not entirely unlistenable either, which says more than 99% of the jumpup mixes I've heard."--Focusyn (DOA)

Summer of Badness: Craggz & Parallel Forces

Last week was our biggest yet at TEMPLE. More beer got drank, more fists got thrown up, and more people rocked the dancefloor than ever. DJs SHARP, MAL, IVRY, AYE~N and guest DJ GENOME firebombed the motherfucking house, while MCs COLONEL, AX!OM and special guest ZEZO had the crowd shouting along. WHAT COULD BE ROWDIER?

This Thursday: CRAGGZ AND PARALLEL FORCES

After taking time out for cheese and wine tasting, intergalactic travel and self-discovery, Craggz and Parallel Forces are back! Having fulfilled their album commitment to Valve and releasing the critically acclaimed "Northern Soul" album, the lads have decided to spread the joy and pen some original offerings for some other great labels. Over the next few months they have releases lined up on Critical, CIA, and their own label, Product Recordings.

Be sure to check their myspace for information on their bio and upcoming tracks, but trust us: C&PF ain't no usual COMPRESSION guest, and don't drop only that usual COMPRESSION sound. These guys will smooth it out, build it up , take it deep and bounce it around. If you don't know what we're talking about, check out their brand-new mix for PYRO RADIO or peep their KNOWLEDGE mix from last year with MC Deeism. Both mixes showcase C&PF's diversity, skill, and excellent sense of flow. Expect sheer D&B freshness when these dudes blow up the spot this Thursday.

Support on the night by COMPRESSION CREW's resident technicians IVRY, SHARP, and THE COLONEL.

IVRY and SHARP were on FIRE last week, people, and we anticipate even more heat from them this week when they open for C&PF. Also, Look for THE COLONEL to rip it on the mic like always, this week with special help from MC ASTRO.

Reppin the dirty dirty (well, Texas--is that the dusty dusty?), ASTRO is a serious contender for best new USDNBMC. He's lit up COMPRESSION before, and we're happy to welcome back ASTRO's fresh blend of hip-hop realism and DnB musicianship. He's a pro, maaaaaan, and will be rocking in the TEMPLE this week!

In the second room, take a break from the D&B and get sexy with the DOWN LIKE THIS DJ'S . . .

$5 after 10pm; drink specials all night long.
YOYOYOYOYO, HONEY BEAR LOVES YOU!!

Summer of Madness: Compression Crew CD Giveaway with Ivry, Sharp, Mal and Aye~n

This week COMPRESSION CREW is saying thank you to all the headz by giving away not one but FOUR different CD's, one for each DJ in the crew. At the same time, it's a fucking Monster Mash on the decks, with all four DJ's tearing down the TEMPLE walls. WHO'S IT GONNA BE?

DJ IVRY

Spaceman knows how to shred the decks in every direction, sparks and smoke pouring forth as he works his technical magic. You never know what IVRY's going to play--D&B, dubstep, hip-hop--but you can be sure he's going to play it proper. Apprehension mounts as the man gets ready to unleash his solo!

DJ SHARP

Watch how the Catman do: smooth and rumbling, bouncing but funky. In years past, Sharp produced one of the all-time great D&B mixtapes ("Don't fake the funk, Pt. 2"), a mixtape that you could listen to in the afternoon at the beach or at three in the morning, partying balls. The Compression Army is lining up to see what he's got this time.

DJ Mal

Starchild was made for loving you baby, and Mal's gonna fuck that earhole till it hurts! A bouncing toranado on the decks, Mal is the crew's showoff, and showoff he will. If you witnessed his B2B Session mix last year, you know Mal's mixes RIP IT, both on CD and in person. Ready!

DJ Aye~n

What's left to say about the Demon? From spitting fire to dropping bombs, he only ever brings the heat. And if you know his most recent mix ("Tried to Give a Damn, couldn't give a shit"), you know he fucking crushes it. He's so good it's scary.

As always, it's free before 11; $5 after.
Drink specials all night.
NEW second room by the DOWN LIKE THIS DJ's, featuring slamming electro, breaks, and other music that's dressed to kill . . .

HONEY BEARS FUCKING LOVES YOU!!

Summer of Madness: Bachelors of Science, Audio Angel, Sharp, Fife, Ax!om

This week is special down at Compression, as we welcome drum and bass superstars BACHELORS OF SCIENCE and celebrate the release of their new track, HORIZONS.

In case you've been on glue for the last year, the BACHELORS OF SCIENCE are Phil 'Rene' Collis and Chris Doe. Hailing from San Francisco, California, the Bachelors of Science have already become firm fixtures in the global dnb scene with their unique sound ranging from liquid flavors to dancefloor beats, with tracks smashing into top record boxes with the likes of Brian Gee, Bailey, LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, High Contrast, Doc Scott, Flight, Alix Perez, Redeyes, JuJu, and L Double to name but a few.

After several very successful releases in 2006 including "Jah No Dead" and "Wicked Ways", the Bachelors busted ass on their debut LP "Science Fiction," which was released on Horizons Music on January, 2008, and included the smash hits "Song For Lovers", "Strings Track", "People Together" and "The Ice Dance". The album was Number One nine weeks in a row on the DnB Arena Download chart, and continues to smash up the world with its lush, heartfelt production.

Not much could improve upon the Bachelors' current sound, except for maybe an extremely rare appearance by the Queen of US MC's, the mighty mighty AUDIO ANGEL.

There was once a time in San Francisco--first at Eklektik, and then at Compression--when you could enjoy the funktastic vocal stylings of the ANGEL every week. But those days are no more, so roll out this Thursday and remind yourself why you came to enjoy SFDNB so much in the first place. The lady rocks it!!

Especially when she's supported by MC Ax!om!

Ladies love him, girls adore him, even the ones he's never met before. He's MC Ax!om, Compression friend and badass MC. Put him together with Audio Angel and you got yourself a well-oiled MC machine, perfectly smooth and funky, the optimum counterpart to the sounds of the SCIENCE.

Also on the night, Groundscore legend, DJ FIFE!

FIFE is a man of many funky rollers, so expect the club to be buzzing before the Science this Thursday with his polished brand of diversity. We haven't seen FIFE in minute, so Compression is excited for him to be back in the house!

And representing COMPRESSION CREW, DJ SHARP!

When he ain't romancing the ladies, he's romancing the decks, dropping the smooth sort of COMPRESSION funk that's perfect for a night of Science! Get out early and catch the man in action as he rips another solid, SHARP set!

As always, support from COMPRESSION CREW, and LOVE from the HONEY BEAR.
Free before 10; $5 thereafter; drink specials all night!

Second room by TEMPLE UNDERGROUND, featuring electro, house, and other dirrrrty business.

DJ Sharp Presents: Ladies Night.

Shit, baby. It's ladies night this Thursday at Compression with DJ SHARP and the rest of the Compression Crew. Come out, get down, and understand why we call drum and bass the sexualized funk.

You don't know Sharp? Need to get to know. Sweet perfection is what we've come to expect from the man, and Sharp never ever disappoints, always rolling it out fresh and clean.

If you smell excitement, that a Sharp headline set. We're ready, he's ready, and we want you to come out get down with us, ladies night style.

With support from the professional, Mr. DJ IVRY.

Recognize the IVRY. He's old school, he's new school, he IS Compression. Bringing goodness for you and your girl, Ivry's ready to take it DEEP.

You know how we do:
